Butterflies are wondrous creatures: beautiful pollinators, synonymous with the joy and vibrance of spring. They are definitely not like humans, who are entitled, prideful, expecting nature to serve them. And if a beautiful butterfly were like that, it wouldn’t be so bad, right?

Set to a sparkling score by composer Keith Allegretti and librettist Amy Herman, The Butterfly follows our fluttering protagonist as he navigates a colorful world of flowers and flirtations, dreams and discovery. With its playful spirit and heartfelt charm, this enchanting mini opera reminds us that true connection often lies just beyond the next blossom.
